When Jesus freed this man of thousands of demons, he told him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.” The Lord calls us to minister to those in our existing network of connections and relationships. God has called and gifted every disciple of Christ to use their time, treasure, and talent to share the Good News with those within their life circles, their unique family, friends, and associates. If every believer were to pray, communicate, and share the Good News with those in their own circle, we could touch millions more people with the Gospel.

The effect that Jesus had on this man was undeniable. People marveled to see him, and they marveled to hear his message about Jesus. They could truly see that God had worked to restore this man. Friends, when people really see God work, when they hear a testimony of a life redeemed, it is marvelous.

Lord Jesus, we marvel at you. We pray that you would work in us so that all may see and believe.

There was no coaxing on the Day of Pentecost. Instead, those with whom the Spirit was at work came to Peter and to the rest and cried, “What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). The use of tricks and traps indicates that a man is substituting his methods for the divine program.
