Week 40: Friday

After the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, a community of three thousand believers began to live as the first Christian Church. The Spirit-filled Church displays the shalom (peace, wholeness) of God’s Kingdom. The community of believers experiences the power of answered prayer, regeneration and new life, the wholeness of God in righteousness and peace, and the powers of the age to come, all in a community of love. Truly, eternal life is ours, and we live as citizens of heaven.

Worship reorients our hearts to love the Lord. We honor him and adore him together. We share in the Lord’s Supper and pray. All of this turns our hearts toward God and teaches us to love him completely.

We love you Lord, and we pray that our love for you would increase!

Friday: Matt. 13.10-52; 8.23-27; Luke 8.9-18, 22-25; Mark 4.21-41

We are members of the royal priesthood because we are united to Christ. He is the Priest-King, and our priestly practices all flow from sharing in his ministry as the head of God’s royal and priestly family. In the grace of the Holy Spirit, we must daily decide to walk in this truth.
